It is situated halfway between Peel's main shopping street and the beach, and less than a minute’s walk from both. Factory Lane is a quiet residential street where in past times nets were made for the Peel fishing boats. (A Peel mystery: the other side of the street is called Beach Street!) Peel Beach is at the bottom of the lane, less than 200 yards away.
Peel is an ideal base from which to explore the varied delights of the Island. But one could happily spend an entire holiday just in Peel, because there is so much to do and see here – quaint streets for exploring, the idyllic ruins of Peel Castle, superb sandy beaches, the exceptional House of Manannan museum of Manx heritage, the Centenary Arts Centre, an outstanding golf course, fishing on the breakwater, walks along Peel Hill, the River Neb, and the Headlands several restaurants and cafes, and many pubs....All this and more is within easy walking distance of the house.
